Manufacture Your New Reality

If you’ve landed here, you’re mere steps away from initiating a project with us. If you haven’t already, we recommend you find out a little more about what working with us on a project is like by clicking here. Before you do that, take a look at these preliminary steps you can take to get things off to the best and fastest possible start.

General

No matter the type of technology or processes involved in a project, a few general points remain consistent. While we know the following points don't necessarily cover everything, they do make a good diving off point.

  • 1.

Are there any critical deadlines you're working with? This is an important question for projects involving multiple phases or a large scope of work.
  • 2.

If you require an NDA agreement, please procure one that meets your standards.
  • 3.

If you are sending us more than one file or a large file please, zip or send to us through a file sharing platform.

3D Design

While we are more than happy to work from something as general as an idea, our designers can work much faster if you address the following points, which helps us save you money.

  • 1.

Define all necessary specifications for your 3D file, particularly critical dimensions and tolerances.
  • 2.

Compile any and all references for your project.
  • 3.

Define any function specific properties of the final part in its physical form.
  • 4.

When you are ready, contact us to begin your project.

3D Scanning

In general, the greatest considerations in 3D Scanning pertain to the size of an object and its surface qualities. Having a firm grasp about the precise manner you want to use a 3D Scan.

  • 1.

Determine whether or not your scan simply requires recognizable features or specific details.
  • 2.

Avoid deep black or highly reflective surfaces. If you are able, matting or neutralizing these types of surfaces aids in their scanability. If you prefer not to alter the object, we are able.
  • 3.

If you are unable to bring the object to our offices for evaluation prior to scanning, please send us orthographic views so we can generate a quote.
  • 4.

When you are ready, contact us to begin your project.

3D Printing

If you already have a 3D file and would like prints, the following points help ensure we get you the best possible quality and turn-around for a quote and print. If you are unable to perform any of the following steps let us know, we're happy to help.

  • 1.

If you already have a 3D file, please check for any possible issues such as inverted faces, non-manifold edges and vertices, gaps, holes, and non-water tight features.
  • 2.

Make sure your file is in either .stl, .obj, .wrl, or .ply file format.
  • 3.

Confirm the units and size of your file.
  • 4.

When you are ready, contact us to begin your project.

Mold and Casting

The key to production is defining how you would ideally like it to work and the frequency at which you plan to produce a finished product. While the specifics of every job vary, the following points address general considerations.

  • 1.

Determine the scale of production you want to work at and how quickly you would like to reach that threshold.
  • 2.

If you're bringing us an existing physical object, please address its fragility and value, (sentimental or intrinsic).
  • 3.

Determine if there are any material-specific requirements for your intended application.
  • 4.

When you are ready, contact us to begin your project.
