This 3D model was created using the HDI LMI Advance 3D Scanner. The skull is the property of the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science, and is one of the best specimens found in the state. As it is too fragile to display or cast, the data will be used to 3D print a full-scale replica which will be put on display.
Digitally sculpted in Zbrush, this Deiphon-inspired trilobite was 3D Printed in bonded gypsum to serve as a master for mold making and casting at large quantity.
This photo shows the original fossil, as well as the HDI LMI Advance 3D Scanner. This scanner is ideal for paleontological applications because it is so precise it can capture the ridges and valleys of a finger print, or an entire building.
This is the 3D model created by scanning the actual fossil shown in the previous photo.

Proetida Inspired Trilobite Resin Cast
This cast was originally created as 3D model, digitally sculpted in the software, Zbrush. After 3D Printing the model, silicone molds were made in order to produce resin casts for large-scale production.
